The Orange Hotel is… green ! We have been investing for months in renewable energy to develop a sustainable and eco-responsible tourism. Following the installation of our wind turbine, we are now getting photovoltaic panels. Our objective is to produce around half of our yearly electricity consumption autonomously and by respecting the environment. Like Phileas Fogg, we dare to make a crazy bet ! Will you follow us on the path towards energy transition ?
An Eco-Responsible Hotel
Our hotel, based in La Louvière, was built respecting the strictest insulation standards. Since its founding, we have been implementing different measures to minimize waste and protect the ecosystem: sensible use of paper, recycling rainwater for toilet flushing, building an insect shelter to support biodiversity, …
But our team’s efforts don’t stop here…
A Hotel… With The Wind In Its Sails !
Last April, our hotel got its own wind turbine, installed by a local company called Fairwind (based in Seneffe). 18 meters tall, it can produce up to 40 000 kWh/year.
We have spared no effort to innovate and give a modern image of hotel tourism in Belgium.
The future lies in the green energy and the respect of environment in order to host the future generations as distinguished visitors. Our wind turbine is merely one of the steps towards energy autonomy and a sensible management of the natural resources of our hotel.
Solar And Wind Energy: A Powerful Duo
Our hotel now combines solar and wind power to produce 50% of its yearly energy consumption. The photovoltaic pannels installed on two slopes of our roof by the company SA Energreen (Wavre) should produce alone 60 000 kWh/year.
You can now say that the Orange hotel is regarded as a leader in the Belgian eco-hotels landscape: we are always looking for innovative projects. In order to build a hopeful future full of opportunities, with the sun shining upon us, we invite you to share our vision of a greener tourism and to think of the future generations by booking your next stay in La Louvière !
